Our Story

A community of first responders, rooted in service and representation.

SAPFA — the Spanish American Professional Firefighters & EMS Association — is a professional organization for firefighters, EMS personnel, and emergency responders. We exist to support our members and the communities we serve through mentorship, advocacy, cultural representation, and outreach.

What SAPFA represents.

A professional association

SAPFA supports firefighters, EMS personnel, and emergency responders through networking, leadership development, mentorship, and recognition — a place for members to stay connected beyond their departments throughout their careers.

A community organization

Our outreach reaches the neighborhoods we serve: smoke detector giveaways, CPR and First Aid classes, recruitment events, back-to-school and coat drives, Juneteenth and cultural events, fundraisers, and family gatherings.

Cultural representation

SAPFA represents Hispanic and Latino professionals in the fire and EMS service, balancing professional credibility with community accessibility and cultural identity.

A modern platform

We are rebuilding our digital home — moving from our previous Weebly site into a modern platform with a member portal, an events system, and the long-term infrastructure to grow with the association.
